Mélissa Chevalier Ressicaud joins Elyse Energy to developp e-methanol projects.

Lyon, 1st June 2023 – As part of the development of its low-carbon molecule production projects, Elyse Energy has announced the appointment of Mélissa Chevalier Ressicaud as Development Director for the e-Methanol France Programme. Mélissa was previously Head of Cost Control and Risk Management at Technip Energies in Lyon.

AN INTERNATIONAL PROFILE AND EXPERTISE IN ENERGY PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL

Mélissa Chevalier Ressicaud, an engineer by training and a specialist in energy and the environment, joins Elyse Energy as Development Director for the e-Methanol Programme in France.

A graduate of CPE Lyon and the IFP School, Mélissa began her professional career in the United States. She began as a process technology engineer at Arkema, a major player in specialty materials, before quickly joining Technip Energies, a leading engineering and technology company for the energy transition. Between Paris, Lyon and Geoje in South Korea, she quickly rose through the ranks to become Head of the Cost Control and Risk Management Department in 2021 in the Lyon operating centre, having previously held the positions of Cost Control Engineer between 2012 and 2015 and Estimating and Proposal Manager on major projects between 2017 and 2021.

Within Elyse Energy, Mélissa will become Development Director for the e-Methanol Programme in France, bringing her skills and experience in the development, management and cost control of major energy projects. This appointment is in line with Elyse Energy’s development strategy and its projects to produce low-carbon molecules for the industrial, shipping and aviation sectors. In her new role, Mélissa Chevalier Ressicaud has been in charge of a team of engineers dedicated to e-methanol projects since January, as well as managing the eM-France Programme.

eM-France is a programme to produce 500,000 tonnes a year of e-methanol across 4 chemical platforms in mainland France, the first of which has been announced at Lacq (64). E-methanol, produced from low-carbon hydrogen and recycled carbon, provides a decarbonisation solution available immediately for the chemical and shipping industries.

“After just over ten rich and intense years at Technip Energies in project control, estimation and proposal, I’ve decided to take on a new personal and professional challenge. I’m delighted to have joined Elyse Energy a few months ago to help develop its e-methanol projects in France. Joining Elyse Energy means taking part in an entrepreneurial, human and technical adventure as part of a dynamic and enthusiastic team that wants to contribute to the collective effort to decarbonise the industrial, maritime and even aviation sectors, to the reindustrialisation of France and to its energy sovereignty”, Mélissa Chevalier Ressicaud, Director of Development for the e-Methanol France Programme.

“We are delighted to welcome Mélissa to the team. Her global vision of the sector, her expertise in complex energy projects and her commitment will enable Elyse Energy to accelerate the development of new e-methanol projects”, Benoit Decourt, co-founder of Elyse Energy and Associate Products, Sustainability and Public Affairs.
